Native Americans

To this day, Native Americans serve in the armed forces at a higher rate than any other demographic. Since 9/11, nearly 19 percent of Native Americans have served in the armed forces, compared to an average of 14 percent of all other ethnicities.

Among the 573 federally recognized tribes — each with their own cultures, traditions, belief systems, and stances on war — military service remains remarkably consistent. No matter the conflict, American Indian men and women continue to risk their lives for the the nation that once tried to eradicate their way of life.

As such Native American veterans often face additional challenges in the process of Military to Civilian Transitions and Civilian Re-integration, and we are here to help.
I found out i am not only fighting for the little bitty piece of land I talk about, [or] my immediate family.

I found out I was fighting for all the Indian people, all the people of the United States.
- Samuel Tso (Navajo), United States Marine Corps
